Bourne's Pond. Driving from Hyannis, take Route 28 to Mashpee Rotary, continue past Mahoney’s Garden Center and Oysters Too Restaurant in East Falmouth. Turn left onto Central Avenue at The UPS Store & Kenyon’s Market. Continue on Central Avenue to the ocean. Turn right at stop sign onto Menauhant Road. Bourne’s Pond is on your right. Beach parking lots are on left. Demonstration by Matt Racheleau “The Clam Man” on How To Dig For Clams, including the use of a scratch rake. After the clam digging demonstration, interested people can proceed to the dock at Green Pond for a presentation on the aquaculture that is taking place in Falmouth. At the site, the Shellfish Constable will be giving a tour of the upweller, an important piece of equipment for the nursery culture of shellfish, and discussing various ways that shellfish are grown. After the presentation, if people are interested, they can join the Shellfish Constable in seeding Bourne’s Pond.
